Al the Yeti Bones

The man known in the «Underground Metal Scene» as AL The Yeti Bones, has been a staple in Canadian Stoner Metal since 1999.

At the age of 19 years old, he formed a band called Mister Bones, that toured Canada several times and released 4 albums under the Montreal Doom label Obskure Sombre Records. Members of bands such as DOWN and Black Label Society took notice of his band before they decided to disband and rebuild in 2005. The new band would go on to do even bigger things. In 2006, The Yeti formed the band known as GEORGIAN SKULL, which was signed to Italy’s Scarlet Records, and was distributed worldwide through SPV records. Album artwork was done by the acclaimed Vince Locke (Cannibal Corpse, Cephalic Carnage) for their debut record «Mother Armageddon, Healing Apocalypse.» In 2008 the band did a 55 date tour, that gained them more exposure. Scarlet Records signed a North American Distribution deal for the Georgian Skull to be released on Entertainment ONE Records (Formerly KOCH Records).

In the midst of all this, Al The Yeti Bones, also was the lead singer for Minnesota doom band, The Mighty Nimbus (also featuring members of Sixty Watt Shaman, and Alabama Thunder Pussy), who were signed to Sweden’s Threeman Recordings, and later inked a deal with Candlelight Records U.S.A. They did a critically acclaimed tour with Sweden’s ENTOMBED, and New Orleans’ CROWBAR. When coming home back to Canada, Here was some press from that tour:

The Yeti went back to work on his main focus which was Georgian Skull. The band eventually disbanded over personal reasons, and The Yeti formed his main stay group, and best band to date. GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH. GCG, is a heavy blues, metal outfit with 3 guitar players and a massive sound that is influenced by bands like Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, and The Allman Brothers. GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH is a real powerhouse of a band, that has a rock and roll wall of sound. With hectic touring schedules, and a rapidly growing fan base, GCG has become one of the genre’s finest band’s hailing from Canada.

The Yeti was also featured in a book called «Gigs From Hell», and magazines such as Decibel, Metal Maniacs, Hit Parader, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Terrorizer, to name a few.

Al is also a graduate from Audio Production school and Music Business from London Ontario. Outside of Gypsy Chief Goliath, he specializes in Artist Development and Music Management.

He has lent his abilities to other bands as well having a guest spot on vocals or lead guitar.

Al the Yeti Bones credits good friend Mia Tyler (Steven Tyler of Aerosmith’s daughter), with the initial idea of starting a management company together and in the beginning phases helped bring AL along quickly, and now he runs his own management company called The Yeti Agency.

Here was their official press release on the Roadrunner Records website Blabbermouth Music News Page:
