About Tim Bloomer
«The V62 really is a fantastic guitar, at a price point that really doesn’t match the quality of the instrument! I don’t know how they have done it at Vintage but since I took receipt of mine it has received a huge amount of play time.»
Tim Bloomer is a professional guitar player from Newcastle Upon Tyne, he began playing guitar aged 11 and has been a full-time guitarist since the day he graduated from his B Mus(hons) in Jazz and Commercial Music in 2013.
Over the course of his career so far he has toured the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe extensively, gaining a wealth of experience along the way, including supporting Sir Tom Jones, holding a residency at one of the UK’s leading funk clubs and working in musical theatre, among many other things. Specialising in performance throughout his degree, Tim is fluent in many styles of modern music, from Jazz through to Country through to Rock and everything in-between.
2018 proved to be a hugely busy and exciting year for Tim, with a huge amount of touring, several recording projects, and also he was lucky enough to play lead guitar and lapsteel on the UK/European Theatre tour of ‘You’ve Got a Friend, The Music of James Taylor and Carole King’, ‘Tapestry’ as well as guitar for Cinderella at The Tyne Theatre & Opera House. He was also thrilled to play guitar for ‘The Simon & Garfunkel Story’ during two sell out residencies in Dublin and London’s West End!
2019 has led on to more amazing shows with ‘The Simon & Garfunkel Story’ in Europe as well as the UK and a vast amount of recording sessions for several different and varied British and American artists, on both guitar and lapsteel. As well as this Tim has also joined the great Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra to play guitar for the majority of their 2019 tour dates. Later in the year Tim is hugely excited to be playing guitar for ‘Paul Simon’s Graceland Live’ on a tour across October and November, where he will be backing American musician and Youtuber, Josh Turner Guitar, alongside a full live band and the South African Cultural Gospel Choir.
«Performance is a real passion of mine. Whether I’m playing jazz at an intimate venue, or playing to a packed house in a beautiful theatre, I love every minute of it. If you are interested in working with me on a new project or are looking for a touring or recording guitar, lapsteel, mandolin or bass player please get in touch, I would love to hear from you.» – Tim Bloomer
Tim also uses Dean Markley strings and said «I have been buying Dean Markley strings for a long time, I love the rich tone and expressive feel. I am super happy to now call myself a Dean Markley ‘Artist’ and to be using their strings exclusively on all of my guitars.»
